Operation AVRO 2025

I was proud to support Operation AVRO 2025 – a borough wide initiative led by GMP, in partnership with Tameside Council and local partners.

The day began with a litter pick and clean-up alongside children and teachers from Holy Trinity CofE Primary School, as well as staff and a group from Holy Trinity Community Centre. It was inspiring to see young people taking pride in their area.

Later, I joined the Earth Stewards from St. Peter’s C.E Primary School at Oxford Park, who are doing an incredible job, taking small steps to make a big difference in keeping our area clean.

It was a busy and productive day in St. Peter’s ward and across Tameside. A huge thank you to Tameside Council officers who were out clearing shrubs and overgrowth on Millennium Green, preparing the area ahead of Bonfire Night.

This is part of the GMP and TMBC plan of action, which will hopefully reduce anti-social behaviour and the misuse of fireworks. And finally, a big shoutout to Andys Man Club for keeping everyone going with refreshments throughout the day.
