I joined the children at Ashton Youth Club, alongside Cllr Taf Sharif, for their mosaic mural workshop.
This fantastic project was funded by the Tameside Council Community Safety Partnership Team and led by the incredibly talented artist, Caroline Coates.
The group chose their own message and began designing the mural a few weeks ago. It was lovely to join them for the final session, and get involved, lay a few pieces, and spend time speaking with the children.
Once completed, this wonderful piece of art will go on public display, a moment the children should be truly proud of.
In the challenging times we are in, projects like this remind us that small acts of creativity and kindness can mean so much. Even a simple message on a mosaic can speak with real strength and warmth.
